PROGRAM - CHILDREN

In this page you will find information about all the programs we offer: MMO to Kindergarten in French and Spanish for children one year to 6 years old. We also offer Afternoon Spanish and French programs (1.30-4.30pm for 3 and 4 year old students) as well as Afternoon School (3.30-5pm for K-4th grade). Our MMO Program is all year round, our Preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten programs follow the schedule of Fulton County Public Schools.

Our Spanish program will expand within the next five - ten years up to 5th grade!

Kindergarten

We do have 15 new spaces in our Spanish Kindergarten. Students without any prior Spanish knowledge will be required to attend one of our total immersion camp in Spanish, to help them prepare for the bilingual Spanish-English education.

Program: Your child will have the opportunity to be involved each day in language learning, mathematics, art, science, social studies,  all developed in Spanish and English. The instruction is a 50/50 split with one week, Spanish taking place on M, W, and F, English on T, Th. The following week it will be reversed for education taught equally in both languages.

Curriculum: Driven by International Baccalaureate Curriculum. Our teachers have already attended some of the IBO trainings, furthermore as a school we have started using the IB techniques in our 4 year old Spanish and French classes.

Hours of Operation: The Kindergarten operates Monday through Friday 8.30am to 2.30pm (morning carpool at 8.15am, afternoon carpool at 2pm)

Mother's Morning Out/ Preschool/Pre-K *

Our Preschool Program is offered in Spanish and French. Children as young as 4 years old start letter recognition and spelling in the foreign language, as well as developing preschool knowledge about other subjects. Our Preschool curriculum is driven by Reggio Emilia approach.

Mothers' Morning Out is available for children one year old to 30 months of age. The MMO Program helps the child to understand the language before starting the more structured Preschool Program. The children in the MMO will automatically register in the Preschool Program (no waiting list).

Program: Your child will have the opportunity to be involved each day in language learning, art projects, math related activities, fine/gross motor movements etc, developed in Spanish or French.

Curriculum: Driven by Reggio-Emilia. The MMO curriculum is based in a list of themes and games, each of them developed within one or two months. The Preschool Curriculum evolves around projects that support the learning of the letters, numbers, math concepts and much more. Each theme is supported with different activities, such as stories, songs, dance, puppets, coloring etc.
Hours of Operation: The MMO operates Monday through Saturday 9am to 12pm with an optional lunch. The Preschool/Pre-K operate Monday through Friday 9am to 1pm.

1st Grade - 5th Grade We are currently working with the  International Baccalaureate Organization in order to be able to use the IB - PYP as our curriculum for the Kindergarten - 5th Grade in the very near future.  More information about this program will be available online within January 2009.

Please keep in mind that the Afternoon Program and Afterschool Program are not designed as afterschool care for students who register in our morning program. They are designed to give opportunities to learn a second language to students who, for lack of space, cannot attend our morning program.

During summer 2007 our students and families had a great time in our Spanish and French summer camps, learned something new in another language, from another culture. We are excited to offer the Summer Fest 2008 with larger variety of activities as well as times. An afternoon Summer Fest session as well as Saturday sessions are added to our schedule. Please follow the above link to more details.

Organization of Classes: Most of the classes are group classes with no more than 8 students per class. Each level is taught during 10 weeks, two hours per week. At the end of each level normally there is one-week break before beginning the other level.

We also offer 7-week levels with three hours per week (two sessions 90 minutes each) for students who would like to master their language in a shorter time. Private lessons are also available as well as specific classes such as trip preparation, classes for corporations etc. For more info contact us at info@trlanguages.com
