Parent Association Activities
Book Drive
Our first book drive was organized on March 2007. Since then a book drive is organized every scholastic year. Our classrooms have benefited a lot from the book fairs: as well as our families who have now a place to purchase books in French and Spanish without paying shipping costs.
On 2010-2011 scholastic year we will organize two book fairs:
- 1st Book Fair: October 19th to October 23rd 2010, 9am-3pm
- 2nd Book Fair: March 19th 2011, as part of our Spring Festival
You have the option to purchase books for your libraries and donate books to the school's library, as well as to the classroom of your choice. Every teacher prepares her/his own Wish Book List that you can use to purchase books for that specific classroom. The information about the next book fair will be included in the monthly newsletter, in the Parent's Portal, in the communication you receive from your child's teacher etc etc. Please do not miss our next Book Drive! It is a lot of fun, and it is one of the activities that our kids benefit greatly!
Giving Back - Charity Event
In conjunction with Community Action Center we organize a Food Drive and a Toy Drive event at least once per year for the last three years. The Food Drive is normally organized in October and the Toy Drive is organized in December. Together with other organizations around us, we helped the Community Action Center to be able to provide a spirit filled Holiday to hundreds of families in our community. Nearly 1,000 local children received holiday presents from CAC's Holiday Gift Shop.
The Community Action Center is located at 1130 Hightower Trail. Their main number is 770-552-4889.
Extra Curriculum Activities
Together with Tabula Rasa, the Parent Association organizes time after time extra curriculum activities, such as Parent Outings/Field Trips, PE related activities etc. On August on each year we post activities organized during the upcoming scholastic year.
Parent Association - Meetings
Parent Association meetings are held almost monthly. They are posted on the internal calendar of the school (accessible via "Parent Portal"). A copy of the Parent Association Minutes is available free of change at the school's office for all parents of the school.
